Our Story

A soap tradition rooted in Anatolia.

Türkiye's relationship with natural soap reaches back centuries — from olive-oil soaps of the Mediterranean to the herbal and tar soaps of Anatolian workshops. Chailea continues this lineage on the Black Sea coast, in Rize's Çayeli district, where cold-process bars are cut and cured by hand.

Tea country

Chai means tea — and this is tea country.

The name Chailea begins with chai, the word for tea in Turkish (çay) and across much of the world. The workshop stands in Çayeli, a district of Rize whose own name means “tea land”: the heart of Türkiye's tea-growing coast, where Black Sea rain and mist feed terraced tea gardens that run down to the shore.

It is a humid, temperate place, and it sets the rhythm of the craft: cold-process bars are poured, cut and left to cure on open racks for 45 days before they are wrapped.

Does Chailea sell directly to consumers outside Türkiye?

No. chaileanaturalsoaps.com is a brand and export showcase. Consumers in Türkiye can order at chailea.com; international distributors, retailers and private-label partners can request wholesale information through the inquiry form or by email.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The MOQ is flexible for a first order and confirmed on inquiry, because it depends on the product line, packaging and whether the order is Chailea-branded or private label. Sample sets are available before a first order.

Can Chailea produce private-label or contract soap?

Yes. ChaiNovi manufactures existing Chailea formulations under a partner's brand, or develops custom formulations, with retail-ready packaging, under ISO 22716 cosmetic GMP. Capacity is up to 100,000 bars per month.

Which documents accompany an export order?

Full INCI lists, batch-level Certificates of Analysis, Safety Data Sheets, allergen declarations, commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, plus the product files a Responsible Person needs for market registration (for example EU CPNP or GCC).

Is the producer registered with the US FDA and the EU CPNP?

ChaiNovi's facility holds a US FDA cosmetic facility registration — a registration, not an approval — and has experience notifying products on the EU CPNP. Registration under a partner's own brand is completed with that partner's Responsible Person; Chailea supplies the files.

How long is the lead time?

Cold-process bars cure for 45 days after pouring, so lead time is planned around curing plus packaging and is confirmed per order together with Incoterms and shipping method.

Where does Chailea export to?

ChaiNovi has shipped for years to the United States, several European countries and the Gulf. Orders ship worldwide with export documentation.

What does cold-process mean?

Plant oils and an alkali solution react at low temperature, without external heat, to form soap. The glycerin created in the reaction stays in the bar, and every ingredient is declared by its INCI name.
